‘Clowns’ begins its national tour in Gijón | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

‘Clowns’, the greatest tribute to clowns, is already in Gijón. Until Sunday, the Teatro de la Laboral will host up to six screenings of the new show by Productores de Sonrisas, a company that is once again betting on Gijón for the premiere of its national tour.

The creators of ‘Circo de Hielo’, ‘Circlassica’ and ‘Circo Mágico’ have returned to a city that always responds to their claim, which is why it has become a talisman in their premieres. This great production is a tribute to clowns for which they have five very different clowns from Germany, Italy, Ukraine and Spain.

Gensi and Isa Belui -the ‘Carablanca’ masters of ceremonies- will try to order the madness of the rest of ‘Clowns’, among which the public will discover Davis Vassallo, a tightrope conductor; Luigi, a mischievous musical inventor and the most hooligan of all, Housch Ma-Housch, a clown whose favorite entertainment is to skip the script. They will also be accompanied by the elegant tightrope walker Klaudia and they will be in charge of taking the viewer into a world where the gesture becomes a smile and the smile, a laugh.

“The clown is the prince of the circus”

The head of the show on tour, Eloisa Simioli, insisted precisely that this is a show to have fun and do as a family. Under the artistic direction of Suso Silva, National Circus Prize winner, ‘Clowns’ aims to be an evolved show of the ancient comedians and clowns and their consequent transformation for more modern times, winking to great characters such as Charles Chaplin, Charlie Rivel, Buster Keaton, George Karl, Marcel Marceau …

The co-founder of Productores de Sonrisas, Manuel González, explained that in this show they wanted to pay tribute to the clown, that great star of the circus. The touring director of the show paraphrased Roberto Beningni into SER Gijón’s microphones, pointing out that “the clown is the prince of the circus.”

The show can be enjoyed this Friday at 6:45 p.m. and on the weekend with a double pass, Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday 12 and 4:30 p.m.
