Cloudflare launches the world’s first anonymous eSIM with built-in VPN

Cloudflare announced the launch this week SIM Zero Trust – a secure version of eSIM for iOS and Android.

It can be used alone or in conjunction with Cloudflare WARP VPN. Protection is provided “at the cellular level,” noted John Graham-Cumming, Cloudflare’s CTO, adding that there is no analog for such a solution. Initially, the novelty will be available in the United States and eventually in other countries.

Zero Trust SIM provides in-depth protection. A VPN is an important component, but it doesn’t eliminate the need to continue using the cellular network on all mobile devices, and traditional VPNs like AnyConnect don’t stop attackers from attacking while on the VPN.

We continue to see organizations being hacked due to security issues with their applications and networks.

This eSIM will allow Cloudflare to rewrite DNS requests and use Cloudflare Gateway for DNS filtering instead. To improve data transfer security, also check each host and IP address before accessing the Internet. [TechCrunch]
