After many years of developing the Killzone franchise, the team of Guerrilla Games has abandoned the known paths to venture into the creation of the universe of Horizon: Zero Dawn.
At the launch of Killzone: Shadow Fall on PlayStation 4, therefore, a new chapter of the shooter series did not follow, but the first epic of Aloy, received with great appreciation by the public and critics. While the arrival of a sequel became more and more likely – confirmed with the presentation of Horizon: Forbidden West – fans of the saga of Helghast however they were confident in a possible return of the IP with PlayStation 5.
L’absence of references to Killzone in the description of Guerrilla Games on the First Party team website Sony however, it has recently undermined this optimism, which is now diminishing further. In fact, the news of the closure of the official Killzone website, whose doors have finally closed, leaving fans only the following message of thanks from Guerrilla:

The official website for the Killzone series has closed. From now on, Killzone.com visitors will be redirected to PlayStation.com. This has no effect on multiplayer modes, player stats, or ranking data for Killzone Mercenary and Killzone Shadow Fall, but it will no longer be possible to create or manage clans in Killzone Shadow Fall. We apologize for this inconvenience.
