Climate Change: Abnormal Heat Sweeps Across Europe in the Heart of Winter

Abnormal heat right in the heart of winter

Abnormal heat right in the heart of winter. But is the cold season really over already?

The increase in temperatures at a global level, with direct effects also on our country, is one of the most evident signs of global warming (due to the increase in the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere caused by anthropic activities) which is literally changing the face of all seasons. In fact, it is not a single day, but a trend aimed at increasingly marked warming with effects especially in the last 20 years.

In these last days of 2023 we are recording maximum temperatures that are crazy to say the least, especially in mountain areas where at 1500 meters peaks of up to 13/15°C can be reached. The freezing point (the altitude where temperatures go from positive to negative values) is located at over 3400 meters (just like in the middle of summer), a clear sign of a truly remarkable climatic anomaly.
It is very hot not only in Italy and the Mediterranean, but also in Central Europe with deviations from the reference average of even over 10°C between France and Germany: put simply, Winter has literally disappeared from the Old, at least for now Continent. Anomalous heat: temperatures well above the reference climate averages At least until the end of 2023, but in all likelihood even at the start of 2024 we will have to deal with above-average maximum values of 2 to 5°C in the North, from 4 to 7 °C in the Center and up to 8°C more in the South.

To find a way out of this latest climate madness we will probably have to wait until the beginning of the first ten days of January when, due to the arrival of colder and more unstable currents descending from Northern Europe, we will return to having more suitable weather and climate conditions. to the period.
