Climate activists threw a can of vegetable soup at the opera on Friday, after which they got stuck in the Palazzo di Bonaparte in Rome, where the work is on display. The artwork would not be damaged because there is a protective layer of glass on it.
The action is similar to that of Just Stop Oil climate activists in recent weeks. This time, four climate activists from “Ultima Generazione”, an Italian subsidiary of Extinction Rebellion, had their hands glued to the wall. The museum’s security intervention immediately closed the exhibition to the public.
