Clearer! This is the look of the newest Daihatsu Ayla twin in Malaysia

Jakarta

The latest Daihatsu Ayla will be launched in Indonesia soon. Before surfing in the country, it turns out that the newest Ayla was already announced in the neighboring country, Malaysia. There, the Daihatsu Ayla is named after the Perodua Axia.

Photos of the latest Daihatsu Ayla twin uploaded by local Malaysian automotive media, Paultan. From the several photos displayed, it is clear that Ayla’s face has received changes with the addition of LED lights and DRL (Day Running Light). This LED light will be in the X variant and above.

Changes can also be seen at the rear, where the brake lights are made firmer with a more boxy and stacked shape. Revisions were also made in the rear trunk door area.

Moving on to the interior, Ayla’s dashboard design is now in a horizontal style with a ‘floating’ head unit screen. If you pay attention, the dashboard layout for the latest Ayla is very similar to the dashboard layout for Daihatsu Rocky, even the steering wheel.

The 2023 Ayla uses the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform and is powered by a 1.0 liter VVT-i engine. The three-cylinder 1KR-VE coded engine is a naturally aspirated type engine that can spit out 67 hp of power and 91 Nm of torque. The machine is not equipped with a turbo like the Rocky engine.

The safety features in the Malaysian version of Ayla are quite complete, ABS brakes with EBD and BA, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control (TRC), and also Solar & Security Window Film. The top variant will have six airbags. There are two airbags at the front, side airbags and curtain airbags.

This car will also get Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PDSA). Features similar to Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) on Daihatsu cars include an autonomous emergency braking feature.
