In a press release, GNR made it known that the Leiria Territorial Command, through the Leiria Criminal Investigation Nucleus, on Wednesday identified a woman, 45 years old, for theft of opportunity in a banking institution, in Colmeias, municipality of Leiria.
According to a source from GNR, the suspect is a cleaning lady, who would be replacing the usual employee of the banking institution, and would have taken over 2,000 euros, committing “theft of opportunity”.
As part of the “investigation for theft of opportunity, through the consultation of video surveillance images”, the GNR military personnel “managed to locate and address the suspicion, which immediately assumed responsibility for the theft” and returned 1,500 euros.
The remaining 500 euros would have already been spent on suspicion, the same source from GNR told Lusa.
The facts were referred to the Judicial Court of Leiria.
