Argentinian U-17 national team star in 2023 U-17 World Cup Claudio Echeverri has a fantastic contract value with River Plate. The Argentine club gave Echeverri a price tag of up to 25 million euros or the equivalent of IDR 424 billion.

Echeverri’s name skyrocketed after scoring a hat trick when Argentina beat Brazil 3-0 in the quarter-finals of the 2023 U-17 World Cup at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), last weekend.

Media Argentina, TyC Sports, called Echeverri the future of Team Tango. Even the discoverer of Echeverri’s talent, Daniel Brizuela, said that the 17-year-old attacking midfielder had the combined ability of two great Argentine players: Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.

Even though he is only 17 years old, Echeverri has already played for River Plate’s senior team this season. The player born in Resistencia, Argentina, has appeared in four matches with River Plate and scored one assist.

River Plate is aware that Echeverri will be sought after by many European clubs. For this reason, River gave Echeverri a release clause in his contract with a fantastic figure.

Echeverri’s contract with River Plate will end in December 2024. Clubs that want to recruit Echeverri before the contract ends must spend 25 million euros or the equivalent of IDR 424 billion.

This figure could make Echeverri the most expensive player to play in the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia.

The value of Echeverri’s contract clause is also predicted to increase after the 2023 U-17 World Cup, especially if the Argentina U-17 national team can become champions.

In fact, the contract release clause can reach 50 million euros or the equivalent of IDR 849 billion. A value of 50 million euros for Echeverri has been discussed by River Plate.

“A few months ago, there was talk behind closed doors about raising it [klausul Echeverri] to be worth 50 million euros to protect it and ensure its continuity for the long term,” wrote TyC Sports.

The Argentina U-17 national team will face Germany in the semifinals of the 2023 U-17 World Cup at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Tuesday (28/11).
