Claimed to be mild, it turns out that this is a side effect of the corona vaccine made in Russia

TNews, SEHAT – The Corona COVID-19 virus vaccine developed by Russia is said to have succeeded in creating antibodies in volunteers in testing in phases 1 and 2.

“The immune response that volunteers get from this vaccine is enough to ward off COVID-19 infection,” wrote the researcher quoted from CNN.

In the journal published in The Lancet, the vaccine, named Sputnik V, also caused some mild symptoms in the study subjects. Half of the study subjects had fever and 42 percent had headache. Meanwhile, about 28 percent complained of fatigue and 24 percent experienced joint pain.

The study did not say how long the side effects last. But researchers say most side effects are mild and don’t last long.

“The results so far are convincing. But these studies are too small to see if there are serious or rare side effects, “said a vaccinologist at John Hopkins University.

Meanwhile Russian scientists acknowledge the limitations of this study. The number of participants who volunteered in phases 1 and 2 is quite low, so further investigation is needed about the effectiveness of this vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19.

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which funds Russian vaccine research, said that currently the Sputnik V vaccine has been distributed to high-risk groups. The vaccine, which was developed by the Gamaleya National Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, just started its phase 3 clinical trial in mid-August.

The phase 3 trial involved about 40,000 people and results are expected to be reported next month. If all goes well, Russia is planning a mass vaccination before the end of 2020.
