L’OR BLANC
“L’Or Blanc” is a poetic and virtuous circus, brought by sublime artists to traditional music played live. “L’Or Blanc” draws its source from the novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, which traces the initiatory path of a man in search of social progress. Leaving his comfortable environment to make a choice of poverty and understand the suffering, his journey will gradually introduce him to the abundance but also the correlative alienation of him. Coming from Battambang, the artists of “L’Or Blanc” come from a training center for the circus arts resulting from a community initiative, born in a refugee camp, to support vulnerable children and their families. In an imaginative setting, rice becomes the image of abundance. The artists juggle with the sheaves of rice, a symbol of the game of commerce, of bartering, of the feverishness of human relationships. A painter takes possession of the spaces, giving a poetic dimension to the performances of the young virtuosos of the circus.
