Circulating action invitation and coverage from the East Java Student Youth Alliance in the WhatsApp group. The invitation to this action demands that East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa resign for failing to protect the public in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The contents of the invitation stated that this action would be held on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 13.30 WIB at the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya.
There are four demands. Namely, first, urging Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa to resign for failing to protect people affected by COVID-19.
Second, urging Khofifah to resign for allegedly manipulating data on COVID-19 victims. Third, urging Khofifah to stop seeking popularity at the expense of the lives of its citizens.
And fourth, stop monopolizing the role and involve Deputy Governor Emil Dardak in solving East Java problems.
In action invitation According to the statement, the action will be carried out with strict health protocols.
In response to this, East Java Acting Bakesbangpol Jonathan Judianto stated that he was still studying the circular. According to him, the circular is not yet clear.
“We still can’t conclude. It’s still being investigated,” said Jonathan to detikcom, Saturday (14/8/2021).
Jonathan confirms Governor Khofifah has been doing its best in dealing with COVID-19.
“We hope that (the action) will not happen. Because the Governor has done everything in his power and efforts with all levels of the East Java Forkopimda and the regents and mayors and the Forkopimda of the city districts to handle the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
