After the Corona break, cineast Daniel Brettschneider from Offenbach will be playing in backyards, wastelands and squares. Its format Cinema Culinary in small format, for the time being.

Offenbach ⋅ For someone whose passion is showing good films on big screens and offering culinary delights, the corona pandemic is a particular torment. But now the easing allows the Offenbach cinema maker Daniel Brettschneider to share some of the ideas and projects To make reality that has been building up in the head of the notorious film buff and amateur cook during the leaden months of contact restrictions. Large events in halls such as the public success “Culinary Cinema” in the Alte Schlosserei have not been possible since the beginning of the pandemic and in the case of the Schlosserei they are not again. Brettschneider therefore tried to satisfy the demand for cinematic community experiences in the open air last year. Demand was high, but the weather often didn’t cooperate. He had to cancel half of the planned events.

But selecting and curating films and racking his brains about food and the order of the menu for the respective film has become the qualified teacher’s second profession and passion, and it also survives such setbacks. And so he lives it out again this summer, inspired by the inquiries of an audience apparently suffering from withdrawal symptoms: When cinema culinary is finally coming back, he is constantly asked. Brettschneider is still happy about the success of the format, in which hundreds of people were able to enjoy a great film and a suitable menu together in the Alte Schlosserei, in cooperation with the Offenbach energy supplier EVO. It’s that time again, albeit in a more modest form: “Kino e Vino” will take place in the courtyard of Offenbach’s Parkside Studios, Friedhofstrasse 59.
