In Ukraine, over the past 4 years, cigarettes have grown the most in price… If in 2017 a pack of Ukrainian filter cigarettes cost an average of 17.47 UAH, now it is 44.4 UAH.
This is stated in OBOZREVATEL material… Imported premium cigarettes rose in price from UAH 25.7 to UAH 59.19, or 2.3 times. This growth is associated with an increase in excise taxes. And this is not the limit. In the near future, a pack will rise in price to 100 UAH.
For example, as you can see in the infographic, the rise in price among the five most popular products ranged from 16.9 to 51%. Depending on the diet, for some, food could rise in price on average. not 30%, but all 50.

On the whole, the cumulative rise in wages was supposed to fully compensate for the rise in prices. In practice, it all depends on what foods to consume. For example, in 2017 it was possible to buy 35.7 kg of beef for the minimum wage (UAH 3200), and now (with a minimum wage of UAH 6000) it is already 40.1 kg. At the same time, the situation with potatoes is fundamentally the opposite: 4 years ago, you could buy 573.4 kg for the minimum wage, and now – 538.5 kg. I.e the purchasing power of the smallest wage fell by almost 40 kg of potatoes.
According to calculations OBOZREVATEL, the increase in excise tax will lead to the fact that the average cost of Ukrainian cigarettes will approach the mark of 50 UAH. At the same time, the price of an imported premium pack will rise to almost UAH 66.8.
Let us remind you that in Ukraine can ban flavored cigarettes and different flavors, and sell tobacco products only to customers over the age of 21.
