In France, where the North and theEast is particularly exposed, 42 departments have been placed on orange alert and people urged to avoid woodlands.
In Lorraine, all departments are also affected by orange vigilance and peaks of 120 km / h were recorded in the evening especially in the Vosges. Gusts of 130 km / h are expected in the region during the peak of the storm on the night of Sunday to Monday February 10, 2020 between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
They reach 113 km / h in Sarrebourg (Moselle), 121 km / h in Mouzay (Meuse) and 106 km / h in Ligneville (Vosges).
Even the famous storks of Sarralbe (Moselle), permanently filmed by a webcam, have to face the winds.

At least 4,000 homes without electricity on Sunday evening
According to the operator Enedis, at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, February 9, at least 4,000 households in Lorraine are deprived of electricity. A figure that could climb in the morning of Monday:
- 1,900 homes in Meurthe-et-Moselle: Viviers-sur-Chiers / Fresnois-la-Montagne – Dieulouard / Sainte-Geneviève – Neufmaisons / Merviller
- 400 homes in Meuse in the Clermont-en-Argonne / Varennes sector
- 2,100 homes in Moselle: Belles-Forêts / Mittersheim and Dalem / Merten / Falck
These are currently rural areas and agglomerations are spared.

SNCF traffic stopped on certain lines
“Train traffic will be strongly impacted today at the start of the evening and tomorrow until 3 p.m.”, announced the SNCF Grand Est, in a press release.

The roof of a school torn by the wind in the Vosges
AT Saint-Die-des-Vosges, the roof of a school flew away Sunday evening. A large part of the roof of the Baldensperger school, rue du 43e-RIT in the Saint-Roch district, has flown away.

First damage in Luxembourg
