Chuck Schumer Urges Congress to Act Quickly on Aid for Ukraine and Israel

The Majority Leader of the US Senate, Democrat Chuck Schumer, said that a consensus was reached on aid to Ukraine and Israel, and that Congress must act quickly to send aid to both countries.

Details: According to Schumer, the consensus was reached during a call on Sunday between President Joe Biden and congressional leaders.

Schumer expressed hope at a press conference in New York that something could be done this week to help both countries.

He noted that the best way to send aid to Israel and Ukraine to the House is to pass a supplemental national security bill approved by the Senate that includes aid to both countries.

The Senate passed the $95 billion package in February, but House Speaker Mike Johnson did not bring it to a vote.
