The renowned film director does not hide his enthusiasm for the Bond films.

– It would have been a fantastic privilege to direct a Bond film, says Nolan in the podcast.Happy Sad Confused».

He nevertheless emphasizes that it had to happen at the right time and under the right conditions.

– At the same time, when you take on a project like that, you work with certain limitations. That’s why you have to have the right attitude towards it, and it has to happen at the right time purely creatively.

Nolan, who is currently directing the star-studded film “Oppenheimer”, says that he is a big fan of the Bond films.

– I love them. The influence those films have on my work is embarrassingly obvious.

There are several question marks attached to the next James Bond film.

The previous film from the Bond universe, No Time To Die (2021), was the last with Daniel Craig as agent 007. It was his fifth film in the famous role. Rumors abound, but who will take over the baton is still unclear.

It is also not clear who will direct. If Nolan were to sit in the director’s chair for the next Bond film, he is clear that he would have to help choose who would play the role.

– It is a complete package. One would not embark on such a film project without being sure that one could contribute creatively.

The British film director has previously been behind films such as The Dark Night (2008), Inception (2010), Interstellar (2014), Dunkirk (2017) and Tenet (2020).

In Oppenheimer, Trond Fausa Aurvåg can be seen in the role of the Ukrainian-American chemist George Kistiakowsky. It is his Hollywood debut.
