Chrissy Teigen’s favorite Dutch sausage was almost not on the menu: ‘Too intense’ | entertainment

entertainment">The owners are still reeling from all the attention they’ve been getting after supermodel Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram post last week. Earlier this week she was in Amsterdam with her husband John Legend, he performed during the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague. The world famous couple decided to go to the capital after the performance.

entertainment">Suddenly they appeared with some friends at the Foodcrib kiosk, a small tent located at the Museumplein. Wielhouder says that her son Bodhi, also involved in the family business, initially did not recognize the Hollywood couple at all. When another colleague finally saw John Legend, they decided to leave them alone. “We always do that,” Wielhouder says soberly.

entertainment">According to Wielhouder, famous people visit more often. “But we’re not going to bother them or ask them to post anything,” she says. “That’s why it’s all the more fun that Chrissy did, all by herself.”

‘Not exactly model food’

entertainment">“Really the best bratwurst I’ve ever eaten, with the best soft bun,” Chrissy writes enthusiastically on her Instagram post, with a photo and video showing the model sliding the bun inside. She also describes in detail where you can find the kiosk in Amsterdam. You could not wish for better advertising as a catering operator.

entertainment">Still, Wielhouder didn’t quite see these praises about the junkyard dog coming. ,,It’s a nice sandwich, not from that. But also very intense,” says Wielhouder. The ingredients are therefore not particularly easy to digest. There are three types of meat on the bun: bratwurst, bacon and fried salami. And there is also cheese, Amsterdam piccalilli and sauerkraut on top. “Not exactly model food,” says Wielhouder.

“Normally people pay a lot for this, but with us this was just pure coincidence.”

entertainment">She goes on to say that she invented all the hot dogs with her husband Mark, who recently passed away. He was a total believer in the junkyard dog, but she was skeptical because of its composition. Laughing: ,,If he had heard that precisely this sandwich makes us so famous, I would certainly have heard that from him.”

entertainment">The Foodcrib kiosk holders immediately notice that it is already a lot busier after Chrissy’s post. ,,People come to our kiosk especially and ask for the sandwich. They also take photos for Instagram.” They have therefore bought extra bratwurst. “It’s really sweet that Chrissy did this. Normally people pay a lot for this, but with us this was just pure coincidence.”
