The Global Times, an English version of China’s state-run media, said, “No matter how the Quad countries cooperate, the Asian NATO (NATO, North Atlantic Treaty Organization) will never be formed.”

In a commentary on the 7th (local time), the Global Times said, “At the time of NATO establishment, Europe had a special historical phenomenon facing the threat of the former Soviet Union, but Asia NATO is not There are objective elements of relations between Asian countries,” he said.

The media said, “Asia NATO will not appear unless China deteriorates in relations with all other major countries. China’s current foreign policy is not to be an enemy of other Asian countries. US attempts to form Asia NATO are not It won’t succeed.”

The media analyzed that the Biden administration sought to advance the Trump administration’s Indo-Pacific strategy, while at the same time trying to prevent China from gaining an advantage in the Indo-Pacific, including China as its most serious competitor.

The media pointed out that China has no strategic intention to dominate the Indo-Pacific region, and pointed out that if the US strategy continues, a serious strategic confrontation between the US and China could lead.

The day before, Japanese Kyodo News and other foreign media reported that the Biden administration was promoting the first quad summit with Japan, Australia, and India, and that the conclusion of the talks depends on the intention of India.

In this regard, the media explained that India wants to become an American powerhouse, not just an alliance with the United States. India, which has traditionally pursued non-alignment, is getting closer to the United States in recent years, but the core of non-alignmentism is still in the fundamental interests of India.

This means that India, a member of the quad, has traditionally promoted non-alignment, and its weapon system is different from that of the United States, and there are many barriers that must be overcome to develop into a complete military alliance.

As for Japan, despite being an ally, it is not only not able to keep pace with the United States, and it is not good for Japan to stand on the side of the United States in the US-China competition by ruining relations with China.

Australia analyzed that China was trying to gain profits on the side of the United States by misjudged that China was trying to challenge Australian supremacy through strategic expansion in the South Pacific.

The media said that China should face pressure from the United States and improve relations with other countries such as Japan, India, and Australia. When these countries regard China as a threat, the likelihood of forming a multilateral alliance with the United States increases.
