GenPI.co – China returned to show its teeth by flying a jet jet into Taiwan airspace. That was the eighth time carried out by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

Media in Taiwan reported that shortly before the PLA aircraft, the US military had sent EP-3E surveillance aircraft in the same area via the Bashi Canal before heading to the South China Sea.

Chinese military expert Song Zhongping said that the PLA aircraft specifically tracked and intercepted the US aircraft.
Since early June until now, the PLA has held eight routine exercises using various types of military aircraft, such as J-10, J-11 and Su-30 fighter jets, as well as Y-8 special mission aircraft as released by the Taiwan defense authority .
According to Song, the operation showed that the PLA was conducting exercises to anticipate possible US and Japanese reinforcements from Guam and the Ryukyu Islands via the Miyako Strait in eastern Taiwan and through the Bashi Canal, Balintang, and Babuyan in southwest Taiwan.
