Named historic, the resolution is expected to strengthen President Xin Jin’s vision of China and strengthen his power in the country.
The resolution said the party’s Central Committee called on all people in the party, the army and all ethnic groups to unite more closely around the party’s Central Committee with member Xin Jinping as the core to fully realize Xin Jinping’s new socialist era with Chinese features.
China’s resolution on the “Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party’s Centennial Struggle” was adopted by about 400 members of the Central Committee in a day-long plenary session.
This is only the third such resolution in the 100-year history of the Chinese Communist Party. The previous two resolutions were issued under the leadership of former leaders Mao Zedong in 1945 and under Deng Xiaoping in 1981.
According to some analysts, this resolution seeks to reverse the decentralization of power by previous leaders and bring the country closer to the so-called cult of personality.
