/ world today news/ China’s shipbuilding sector continues to be the world leader according to statistics from the end of 2022. with the largest market share in terms of output and orders, official data show.
The country’s shipbuilding output reached 37.86 million deadweight tons (dwt) last year, accounting for 47.3 percent of the total global industry. This is shown by the data of the China National Shipbuilding Industry Association.
New orders, another key indicator for the shipbuilding industry, totaled 45.52 million dwt in 2022, with a global market share of 55.2 percent.
The association also announced that six Chinese shipbuilding enterprises ranked in the top 10 in the world in terms of the aforementioned indicators.
