CHINA: HERE IS THE NEW G4 VIRUS THAT WILL SPREAD THE NEW GLOBAL PANDEMIC

HIBAPRESS- RABAT-AGENCIES

We have not yet finished with the complications caused by impacted coronavirus from China that the latter already announces that there is another virus called VirusG4 is trying to establish itself, thus putting the Chinese once again in front of the fait accompli

This new virus, which is only an extension of H1N1, can truly turn into a global pandemic because it could be easily spread with the deconfinement experienced by the world after coronavirus

Scientists from Chinese universities and the Center for Disease Prevention and Control in China have just discovered a new swine flu virus called G4. It is genetically descended from the H1N1 strain, which caused a pandemic in 2009.

In the study report published in the PNAS journal, the authors indicated that this virus presented « all essential traits showing high adaptability to infect humans ».

After performing experiments on ferrets in the laboratory, the scientists found that the G4 virus was more infectious. It caused more severe symptoms than other strains. Following in vitro tests, the researchers realized that the immunity obtained after contact with seasonal flu viruses would not protect against this new virus.

The study also reveals that workers working with pigs are particularly the most affected. And according to blood tests to detect the presence of antibodies to the virus, 10.4% were infected, while nearly 4.4% of the general population would also have contracted the virus.

The detection of these cases means that the G4 virus is already affecting humans. Scientists note, however, that there is still no evidence that it can be transmitted between humans. They pointed out that there is a pandemic when « Influenza A viruses with new HA surface antigen become able to spread from human to human ».
