China accounted for half of global electric car sales in 2021 | Economy

Half of the sales of electric vehicles registered in 2021 worldwide were made in China, according to data published today by the consulting firm Canalys.

In total, according to Canalys estimates, 6.5 million of this type of vehicle -including fully electric and plug-in hybrids- were sold worldwide last year, 109% more than in 2020, already reaching a 9% of total vehicle sales globally.
