When in 2012 at HKC Magdeburg-Barleben e. V. Thanks to funding from the municipality of Barleben, the first Taiko group in Saxony-Anhalt was created, but no one thought that 12 years later the training of a children’s Taiko group would begin.
Now the time has come: since January 29th, 2024, children aged 10 and over have been training in the premises of the after-school center in the town of Barleben every Monday from 3 – 4:30 p.m. The children can definitely try it out 3 times. The HKC had 10 children’s taikos built especially for this purpose. The training is led by a specialist instructor.
Why is training for children good? There are many reasons for “Kumi-daiko” (taiko group):
– get acquainted with a new culture – Japanese culture;
– the dynamic sound of the Taiko drum, which is incomparable to all other percussion instruments in the world, simply amazes;
– Strengthening health, endurance and concentration
– attractive due to its simplicity and simplicity;
– Taiko is a musical language that brings people around the world closer together.
