Mathias Marmein, who works on the subjects of education and sport in the city, can imagine a kindergarten group for 25 kids there. In addition, up to ten under three year olds could be looked after in the facility, said Marmein. The bottom line is that there are 20 places in the portfolio for the very little ones and, with an offer rate of 15.5 percent, you almost achieve the target of at least 17 percent that the SPD is focusing on. “This is a start,” said Nikolai Häussermann. It was important to the Social Democrat, however, not to lose sight of a rapprochement with the spheres in Marbach, where 27 percent of those under three have a place. In this context, Häußermann also called for the supply to be expanded and advance payments to be made independently of the current demand. Because especially parents who have to pay off a loan for a house are usually both employed and need childcare places for their offspring. Mathias Marmein, however, wondered how this should be dealt with in practice. “It is difficult to find staff then.
