Chelsea vs BK Häcken: Dominant London Team Fails to Break Through Swedish Opponent’s Defense – Match Recap and Highlights

The London team completely dominated the match, but did not find a way to pierce the Swedish team’s network.

Chelsea and BK Häcken arrived tonight to star in a duel of giants at Stamford Bridge. However, the match ended up looking like David versus Goliath, with a similar result, as the team that was bombed ended up getting a point.

The Swedish team came into the match as the undefeated leader of group D. Their two victories against Real Madrid and Paris FC, despite not having dominated any of their two games, threatened a Chelsea team that had beaten Paris, but had left points at the Di Stefano.

However, the London team set a high pace from the beginning and in the 3rd minute Kirby stood alone against Falk, missing the chance. After suffering a blow, the Englishwoman gave a scare and had to be treated for a few minutes.

Chelsea’s chances came and went in the first half. Kirby, Buchanan, Kerr, Rytting Kanerid… they all had their chance and each one more clearly. Among the most notable Rytting Kanerid had a one-on-one that Falk stopped, and Cuthbert caught a rebound from the front that he hit the crossbar.

For their part, BK Häcken barely had the ball, a timid shot from Larisey and a good shot from Anvergärd were the only danger that the Swedes could create in Musovic’s goal.

Goalless occasions

In the second part the script was the same. BK Häcken waiting behind in a low block and Chelsea wearing down their rival with non-stop lateral crosses.

Although the British team tried, they did not have great opportunities in the second 45 minutes. A shot against the crossbar by Sam Kerr and a cross shot by James in the 91st minute were the only chances that went on target.

BK Häcken went from little to nothing and did not arrive even once. She withstood Chelsea’s attacks and did not go beyond the center of the field, except on one occasion when the newly incorporated Masaka was left alone after a long pass behind the London defense. The referee whistled a controversial offside that prevented us from seeing the outcome of the play.

The Swedes will remain leaders of group D for one more day and Chelsea will have to wait to overcome their rival.
