Chelsea – Everton 6-0, Chelsea clearly won thanks to Palmer’s four-goal performance

Palmer opened the scoring in the 13th minute and then added two more goals in quick succession. He scored a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge in his second game in a row, scoring three goals, including two set-pieces, in a 4-3 win over Manchester United on 4 April.

Jackson made it 4-0 just before the break, then Palmer made it 5-0 from the penalty spot. In total, he has already scored 23 goals in all competitions this season. He became the first Chelsea player to reach the 20-goal mark in a season since Eden Hazard, who did it in 2018/19.

The final score was sealed in the last minute of regular time by the 20-year-old Gilchrist, who scored for the first time in a Chelsea shirt.

Chelsea is in ninth place in the table and continues to nurture hopes for cup positions. Tottenham are fifth, 13 points behind, but still have a game to play. Everton is in 16th place even with the deduction of eight points for breaching financial rules, two points away from the relegation zone.
