Cheerful Katrīna Dimanta releases a song dedicated to the snowy winter

At the end of the year, the song “Walking the White Snow Road” was released by musician Katrīna Dimanta. The song is in the style of a synth and tells about the adventures of friends on a winter hike in the woods.

The song “Walking the White Snow Road” was written in February, when Katrīna lived and wrote music in the “Residence in Kurzeme” for ten days, surrounded by huge snow and forest. Part of the video of the song was also made in February this year in Kurzeme – the video format has been deliberately preserved, creating a sense of presence that takes over when receiving a video message from friends. The filmed clip shows that in February, at least in Kurzeme, the weather conditions were very similar to those currently in the central districts of Latvia – paraphrasing Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš, there was more snow than ever before.

The song “Walking the White Snow Road” came to me very quickly. The surrounding environment was a paradise and a source of inspiration. Together with friends we went on forest research hikes, went skiing, went to the sauna. I wrote the music while sitting by the fireplace, ”says the musician. For the first time, Katrīna played this song in her master class on the Internet and it gained a great public response – the song became a popular choice in online concert greetings.

This year has been diverse for Katrīna Dimanta – the musician has performed with the international “Nufolk orchestra”, as well as in the solo version, but in the program “Let there be a holiday!” has been the leader of a music group, and it has also created a master class for mastering the game of ukulele. This year, Dimanta has written music for the Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival and has been actively working on the recording of her debut album “Krāsas”, which will be handed over to the audience in February 2022.
