In the month of June, the Belgian inflation rate climbed to 9.65 percent. That means that life is now on average almost 10 percent more expensive than a year ago. This is mainly due to the expensive energy. But food has also become significantly more expensive in recent months. Food (including alcoholic beverages) is now 8.44 percent more expensive than a year ago. Inflation is even higher for some products: oils (20 percent), fish and dairy (11.3 percent).
