How does this feel?
– We are very moved. It feels fantastically funny that there are viewers who, after 42 years, still remember us and have voted for us. Our fans are so loyal. We haven’t had a fan club or anything like that, the song has lived its own life.
What did Melodifestivalen mean to you?
– It gave us a jumpstart into the music industry. We were initially hesitant to perform – we were doing street music and listening to 70s rock – but everyone around us said that the Melodifestivalen was a great place to say hello to Sweden. And that was that. Although we did not stay in that world, it gave us an experience and a network of contacts.

Now the second Chattanooga album ”Glimten i ögat” is coming digitally. How has it aged?
– You will like it if you like “Halå hela pressen”, but on “Glimten i ögat” we worked with Strix Q, Uggla’s backing band, so it is more rock music. In this way, it feels more “we”. Listening to the lyrics now, for the first time in maybe 30 years, I was struck by the fact that it’s still us. We have been allowed to have our dreams alone, allowed to be who we are. We got that in Melodifestivalen too, when we came in there in our queer stage clothes, in ties and blazers. I think it made an impression.

Come on fourth place in Melodifestivalen 1982 with the song “Hallå hela pressen”, which was on the Svensktoppen for eight weeks. In the same year, the debut album “Stoppa pressarna” came out. On the second album “Glimten i ögat”, which was released in 1983, they collaborated with the rock band Strix Q.
Chattanooga split in 1986, but the sisters continued to make music in various constellations, together and with others.
2021 released the original version of “Hallå hela pressen”, recorded in 1981, and now the album “Glimten i ögat” comes digitally.
