ChatGpt, what are the new temporary chats for

One of the things that people are unaware of ChatGpt it is the possibility of converse with AI in an “anonymous” form. About this, OpenAI introduced two important innovations.

In the chatbot settings, by clicking on “Data control”simply uncheck the item “Improve the model for everyone” – i.e. “Improve the model for everyone” – to prevent OpenAI from training its artificial intelligence with the data of whoever is using it.

Until a few days ago this option – which allows you to protect particularly sensitive data – had a downside: those who chose not to share their conversations with ChatGpt had, in fact, to give up the his chat history.

Now, however, even those who decide not to contribute to the improvement of ChatGpt can consult previous conversations with the AI.

The chat history has always been a great convenience: it can be retrieved particularly effective prompts or useful information generated by artificial intelligence. And if you want, you can continue an old conversation without having to re-instruct the AI on the task it has to carry out.

OpenAI also introduced the ability to use a “temporary chat”.

The “Temporary Chat” protects the user’s texts, images and documents: OpenAI will not be able to use the contents provided by humans to train its AI.

On the other hand, temporary chats will not be saved in the history.

In short, anyone who needs an “anonymous” chat on the fly can select the “temporary chat” in the menu that is usually used to select the Gpt-3.5 or Gpt-4 model on ChatGpt.

“Temporary chats” are available for users who use ChatGpt free and for those who have a Plus subscription. But for now they can only be used on the desktop version of the chatbot. OpenAI has communicated that they will also soon arrive on the official app.
