The bleachers are already designed and allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere that will reign in this future equipment of Chartres metropolis (Eure-et-Loir).
To sum up: the work of the “little Zénith” in Chartres, the cultural and sports complex, is continuing at full speed. About sixty people work on this site, in the Chartres station area.
Some elements are significant since our last site visit!
The central arena and the West bleachers formed a large part of the “shell”, the floor of the room will be done later, but the landscape around it is already taking shape. From the stands, you can see the training room : seven meters high, 1,500 m in surface, to allow athletes to train.
A “modular” room
As a reminder, the handball club should take up residence for the 2023-2024 season in this future equipment. Karine Dorange specifies that if other sports clubs in the agglomeration play a similar level, “Everyone will be received under the same conditions”.
Everything is possible in this equipment, everything is flexible, we can also imagine that this training room is a place of catering for other events.
The frame in February 2022
Preparation rooms, dressing rooms and changing rooms also have their foundations, as well as the technical rooms and the service area and its access ramp.
Sports buses or touring and show vehicles can enter the complex directly, without having to stop and park outside.
The metal frame of the cultural and sports complex should be installed in February 2022, ie in a few months … The end of the structural work, “the super structure” is scheduled for the end of 2022.
And concerning the name of this major new facility, residents are always invited to give their ideas!
