A person in charge of a retirement home has just been condemned at judicial court of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) for “Discrimination in hiring, because of appearance physique », writes the Republican Echo.
In August 2019, a young woman shows up in a Eurelian retirement home. She is applying for a position of waitress, but soon saw himself having the possibility of landing a job as a carer.
The candidate for the post is ill
The director of the establishment, aged 55, ends the job interview when she notices that the candidate has no teeth.

The young woman is actually suffering from an illness, periodontitis, and tells his interlocutor that she will soon have a device.
“It’s a problem. I find that shocking ”, she answers then, always according to the daily newspaper.
The one who came to find a job finally files complaint against the person in charge of the EHPAD.
“An awkwardness”
According to the Republican Echo, at Chartres court, the warned declares:
It is an awkwardness. (…) I did it wrong. I humiliated her without realizing the seriousness of my words ”.

The attorney from Republic described the recruiter’s behavior as“Attack on human dignity”.
This offense, judged by the criminal court and not by the labor courts at the request of the public prosecutor, could have cost up to three years in prison to the defendant, who finally gets away with 600 € fine suspended. She will also have to pay the avocado fees (750 €) and compensate the victim up to 2 000 euros.
