The reactions are not long in coming, about the new 7.5% tax for owners of land built in the municipalities of Chartres Métropole, voted at the last community council, Thursday 17 December 2020.
Before this new tax was approved by a little over 68% of the assembly, nine professional organizations published an open letter addressed to elected representatives of Chartres Métropole.
Craftsmen and traders unite
MEDEF Eure-et-Loir, CPME 28, FFB Eure-et-Loir, UIMM Eure-et-Loir, UMIH 28, Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Eure-et-Loir, the Val Horizons Association, the FFIE and Fiers d’Être Artisans 28 have joined forces to write down their concerns about this new tax.
“The implementation of a new tax in this extremely tense context would be likely to worsen the difficulties of businesses in your area, which fight on a daily basis to preserve local activity and employment”.
Deputy Guillaume Kasbarian supports professional organizations
Guillaume Kasbarian says he is sensitive to this open letter. “It is an unprecedented collective approach coming from companies in our territory, which all warn about the dangers of such a tax”.
The deputy of Eure-et-Loir ensures that Chartres Metropolis will benefit from almost equal endowments to those of previous years. “Some are discarding national politics to justify their local political choices.”
Some [collectivités] moderate their spending and investments so that they never have to raise taxes. Others spend and invest in abundance, even if it means increasing taxes when the coffers are empty. It’s their choice.
A petition from Chartres Ecologie
The LaRem collective and citizen Osons Chartres Otherwise said he was aware of the importance of investing, but stressed: “we could have lowered spending on other budget items”.
He also suggests that certain investments of Chartres Metropolis could have been revised downwards, merged, or shifted in time.
Chartres Ecology threw a petition against this Land tax on built properties.
