I didn’t want to take a lot of risks, although I got enough of it looking at the last two laps. We must not forget that we are struggling with the McLaren, there were big points up for grabs. I saw two opportunities and I tried, but it did not go successful”.
“I think I have managed pretty good – continued Leclerc – I also like to look at the general situation and in this sense we are making progress. We do not have to discourage us when we have a more difficult race than the others. If we look at the pace on the hard tires, towards the middle of the race we were not very far from Mercedes e Red Bull. There is so much positive. We can not not even be happy with fourth place though. I am here to win and also the whole team is here to win. But we give everything and I’m sure that soon victories will come”.
“It wasn’t a good day for me, I have committed a error with tires not yet in temperature and at the restart with used tires I didn’t have enough speed – said Sainz for his part -. We need to investigate and understand why in general the step wasn’t that fast as in qualifying, I had problems getting the tires up to temperature, I did a lot of lockups with the front, whether they were soft or hard, that’s something there is to be improved“.
“It wasn’t all bad for the team, some points have arrived, but me I have suffered a little and it wasn’t a good weekend for me, I had the pace for do better eighth place – adds the Spaniard -. The start with two missing laps I didn’t mind, albeit for me it wasn’t ideal because I didn’t have a good feeling with the car. It was certainly a show and the riders had fun too ”.
