On the Red Bull Ring circuit in these hours unfortunately continues to hold the spot, almost more than the action on the track, the behavior of fans in the stands. Yesterday everyone was outraged by the bad show offered by some ‘fans’ of Max Verstappen, filmed by the cameras while they cheered wildly at the exit of Lewis Hamilton. The English driver himself said he was shocked by this kind of attitude. Unfortunately, however, the problems related to the conduct held in the stands by the fans were not limited to this. Many enthusiasts present at the plant in fact highlighted on social networks how they were there discriminatory behavior, offensive and even on the verge of abuse towards some spectators. A ruined party that even prompted Formula 1 itself to take one clear and official position a few hours away from the start of the Grand Prix.
“We have been made aware that some fans have been victims of totally unacceptable comments from others at the Austrian GP. We take these matters very seriously – reads the note released by the Circus – we presented them to the promoters, to the safety of the event and we will speak with those who reported the incidents. This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated“. Among the team, the first to give further visibility to the F1 press release was Aston Martin, who further underlined how these behaviors cannot be admitted in sport.
We are pleased to see @ F1 taking action against the abuse of fans at the #AustrianGP circuit. This unacceptable behaviour has no place in our sport.
Everyone should feel welcome in # F1. Nobody needs to prove that they belong.
All in. All welcome. All celebrated. https://t.co/ysBbEb9Uq2
