Channel 13 editor fired after audio leak during Martín Pradenas formalization | TV and Show

Serious repercussions caused in Canal 13 the leaking of the audio of one of its journalists during the judicial formalization of Martín Pradenas, who is being investigated for four sexual crimes committed against three victims, including the alleged violation of the deceased Antonia Barra.

According to sources of BioBioChile, less than a day after the broadcast of the newscast, the editor of T13 AM and T13 Afternoon, Silvana Muñoz, was disconnected from the private station.

The event in question occurred this Wednesday during the broadcast of T13 AM, where reporter Héctor Burgos was heard to say, “It was crazy”, in relation to Antonia Barra.

The leak caused a widespread wave of criticism against Channel 13, becoming one of the most talked about topics on social media on the day.

Within hours of the broadcast, the station explained its version of events: “While statements were being issued by the Prosecutor of the case, part of the conversation between the correspondent and his editor was heard, when the journalist explained the tenor of the procedural defense de Pradenas ”, they pointed out.

“That gave way to a phrase that was heard on the air, which out of context caused natural outrage,” they added.

After the controversy, the press director of Canal 13, Claudio Villavicencio, personally contacted Antonia’s family and her lawyer, in order to explain what had happened and apologize.

“We regret this situation and we have contacted Antonia’s family, in addition to her lawyer, to explain and apologize for the case, which were well received. At no time was it the intention of the journalist, and less of the media, to revile the person of Antonia and less to relativize her case, which we have covered with all rigor, ”explained Canal 13.
