The second highest payer was Xu’s husband, who spent 21 days in the negative pressure isolation ward and was unable to work for 46 days. He received 366,866 yuan in compensation. Xu’s eldest son was in the negative pressure isolation ward for 21 days and received 322,222 yuan in compensation. Her second son was hospitalized for 26 days and received 279,551 yuan in compensation.
For other family members who are not admitted to the negative pressure isolation ward, the compensation amount is 100,000 to 200,000 yuan, depending on their income.
Ms. Xu’s parents, who run a relatively high-income family business, shut down their business for half a month after being infected by the epidemic and demanded 640,000 yuan in compensation for operating losses, but the court has felt the amount was too high, and 122,400 yuan was reasonable.
