Changes in traffic organization on the Jurmala highway

“Latvijas Valsts ceļi” (LVC) informs that on the Jūrmala highway (A10) the traffic has been switched to the Jūrmala carriageway, in each of the directions it is organized by one extended lane. Traffic may be slowed down at this stage, so LVC recommends using electric trains to get to the sea.

LVC also calls for careful follow of road signs and directions, especially those driving in the direction of Imanta, Babīte and Liepāja. At the two-level traffic junction with the Riga bypass A5, the traffic organization on the exits may change every day this week. The course and duration of asphalting works will depend on the weather conditions.

Elsewhere on the national road network, the construction season continues, so LVC recommends motorists to plan their trips in time, choose time outside the usual rush hour and take into account additional time on the road.

On the Tallinn highway (A1), the Saulkrasti bypass has two sections regulated by traffic lights and two more sections with priority signs. Speed limit 70 and 50 km / h. But on the Jelgava highway (A8) in the section from Jaunolaine to the Misa bridge, traffic is organized along the Jelgava carriageway in one lane in both directions. Speed limit 70 km / h. On the Daugavpils highway (A6) between Skrīveri and Aizkraukle, there are two sections regulated by traffic lights and the speed limit is 70 and 50 km / h.

LVC informs that construction works have been completed at the intersection of the access road to Riga Airport with Ziemeļu and Dzirnieku streets, as well as renovation works have been completed on the Klīves canal bridge on the Jelgava – Kalnciems motorway.

In total, almost 60 sections of state roads are being repaired, including 14 bridges and overpasses. With this in mind, drivers must take into account traffic restrictions, as well as comply with all restrictions and traffic light signals during the construction phase.
