The reason was that the senator was infected Jan Filip Libickiwho was detected koronawirusa. COVID-19 was also found, inter alia, with senator Artur Dunin from the Civic Coalition, Ryszard Bober from PSL-Polish Coalition and PSL MP Dariusz Klimczak.

According to Marshal Grodzki, some senators will be meeting remotely. – We examined most of the senators and a large part of the employees of the Senate Chancellery. We have not recorded any new cases of infection, informed the politician, adding that the infected MPs “are feeling fine”.

Senators will deal with The Act amending certain acts to ensure the functioning of health care in connection with the COVID-19 epidemic and after its cessation and the Act on the support of the trade receivables insurance market in connection with counteracting the economic effects of COVID-19.

Among the proposed provisions there was an amendment on compensation for entities that were involved in the organization of the presidential elections on May 10 (which did not ultimately take place). In this case it is about Polish Postwhich was to be responsible for the postal vote. It is estimated that the printing of voting cards amounted to PLN 70 million.

– The position of the majority in this matter is unambiguous, the money has been spent illegally – said Tomasz Grodzki. – This is a matter for other services, not for the Senate – he stressed.

Marshal Grodzki also confirmed the information that the head of the Senate Chancellery, Piotr Świątecki, resigned. He did not give reasons for this decision, explaining that it was a private matter. – The Presidium of the Senate accepted the candidacy of Adam Niemczewski – informed Grodzki.

Tomasz Grodzki was also asked for a comment on the organization of the event at Westerplatte. Now the Polish Army is to be responsible for it. The politician stated that “it is sad that this place is becoming the subject of political bargaining”.

– It is an expression of the fact that the authorities strive to centralize the attributes of the Republic of Poland, which contradicts the democratic values - added the Speaker of the Senate. – It is a bad thing that there is such a scuffle over this legendary piece of land – emphasized Grodzki.
