CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – After playing around 30 minutes against Atalanta Bergamo in the quarter-finals, Kylian Mbappé is starting with PSG for the big semi-final against Leipzig this Wednesday evening alongside Neymar and Angel Di Maria, back from suspension. Mauro Icardi, he is on the bench. In a three-way environment, Leandro Paredes will accompany Ander Herrera and Marquinhos.
In the end, it’s a fairly logical surprise. Announced as likely holder, Mauro Icardi will finally start on the sidelines for this Champions League semi-final against Leipzig (9 p.m.). In poor shape in 2020 and transparent against Atalanta, the Argentinian leaves his place at the forefront to Kylian Mbappé, holder after his decisive entry into the quarter.
Without Icardi, it is therefore in a more traditional 4-3-3 that PSG should present itself, with a classic attacking trio: Angel Di Maria on the right, Neymar on the left and Mbappé in front. Note that the Brazilian could still take the keys to the axis to transform the pattern into 4-3-1-2 as against Bergamo.

Tuchel and the temptation of 4-4-2: “If we had played after Dortmund …”
The other novelty is this three-way environment made up of Marquinhos, placed in sentry, Leandro Paredes and Ander Herrera. Between the quality of the pass and the aggressiveness of the Argentinean and the large volume of play of the Spaniard, Thomas Tuchel decided not to decide and to strengthen his environment against that of Leipzig, ultra-attractive in this sector. Behind, Sergio Rico takes the place of Keylor Navas in the Parisian goals while the Parisian defense of the quarter is renewed on this half.
