On the eve of Book Week, the Book Ball will be celebrated tonight. This year’s theme is ‘In our family’. The literary party takes place in International Theater Amsterdam on Leidseplein.
Important guests this year are the six members of the Chabot family. They wrote the Book Week Gift 2024, which has the title Family packaging got. The poem Black Cadillac by Bart Chabot was chosen as the Book Week poem this year.

This year, for the first time, no Book Week essay was written, but a poetry collection was chosen. The collection consists of old and new poems by Bart Chabot.
Run on cards
This year, Book Week will be held for the 89th time and will last until next Sunday. People who purchase books worth 15 euros or more this week will receive the Book Week Gift for free.
In the run-up to the ball there was a rush for tickets. Last week, the book association CPNB, which organizes Book Week, said that the enthusiasm is “gigantic” this year. The more than 1,220 available cards are distributed among writers, journalists, dignitaries and people from the book industry.
