Jayson Tatum scored 31 points and five assists for the Boston Celtics, who beat the Detroit Pistons 128-112 yesterday for their fourth win.
Jaylen Brown scored 30 points and seven rebounds. Sam Hauser has set a 24-point record off the bench for Boston, who has scored no less than 109 points in any of his wins this season.
After scoring just five points in a quiet first half, Tatum had 16 in the first five minutes of the third period to help the Celtics take control.
He also involved his teammates. At one point he sent a pass from behind to Al Horford, who scored a triple from the corner. Boston took a 16-point lead over the period.
Boston took a 24-point lead in the fourth quarter.
Jaden Ivey scored 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Pistons, who have lost four of their five games.

Nikola Jokic scored 24 points in 21 minutes as the Denver Nuggets recovered from an 18-point deficit in the second half of last night’s game in a 122-119 win over the Indiana Pacers.
Denver has won four straight wins and six out of seven. Aaron Gordon had 18 points and equalized a career record with 17 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Franz Wagner scored 22 points and the Orlando Magic defeated the Dallas Mavericks 94-87.
