Celine Dion’s “Courage Tour” Canceled Due to Health Reasons

Canadian singer Celine Dion announced, in a statement today, Friday, that the last concerts of her “Courage Tour” tour have been canceled due to health reasons.

Dion posted on her Twitter account a statement announcing the cancellation of 42 concerts that were to be revived between 2023 and 2024, and the tour was supposed to start next August from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and include cities including Helsinki and London.

The Canadian singer said that she regrets disappointing the hopes of her fans, and continued in the statement, “It is not fair that I continue to postpone performances, as it breaks my heart, but it is better to cancel everything until I am ready to return again, and I want you all to know that I will not give up .. and I cannot wait.” To see you again.”

The statement indicated that Dion is undergoing treatment, but her health condition prevents her from appearing on the stage, and the producing company said that it will refund the amounts of tickets for the concerts that have been canceled.

This is not the first time that Celine Dion has been forced to cancel her concerts, as she announced last December that she had a rare neurological disorder, which prompted her to cancel her summer concerts in 2023, and to postpone them for next year, which are the same concerts that she announced today, Friday, to cancel them.

A rare immune disease

Celine Dion, 55, suffers from “stiff person” syndrome, a rare immune disease that affects one person in a million and causes severe pain and difficulty in movement, and prevents the person from performing strenuous physical activities.

The Canadian singer said, in a video clip she posted earlier, that this disorder causes muscle spasms and does not allow her to use her vocal cords to sing the way she used to.

Dion’s last appearance on the stage dates back to March 2020 in New York City, USA, and the concert was part of the “Courage” tour that began in 2019 and was disrupted for a while due to the spread of the “Covid-19” pandemic, and it was supposed to include 52 concerts.

Celine Dion, who began her artistic career in the eighties of the last century, was dubbed the Queen of Pop and Contemporary Art, and her fame increased at the international level after presenting the song for the movie “Titanic”, and she won the Grammy Award in 1992 for the best pop performance.
