Success for one more year, and it is already 15, of the Toledo Film and Word Festival, the Cibra, which this Sunday celebrated its final gala with the presence of numerous faces from cinema, sports and literature of our country on the carpet red installed in the ‘El Greco’ Congress Palace. Over the course of two weeks, Cibra has screened 19 films, 9 of them previews. A festival that this year has opened new spaces and has had more than 30 activities, such as the MiniCibra, which more than 9,000 students have attended. The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Amador Pastor, took advantage of the event to announce the publication this Monday of the subsidies to cultural accelerators in Castilla-La Mancha, financed with 750,000 euros of Next Generation funds.

The mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, has committed the City Council’s support to the festival, which will also be a key piece in Toledo’s candidacy for European capital of culture. The Cibra, he said, has established itself “as one of the most important film festivals in all of Spain.” An appointment that the mayor has highlighted for the use of various heritage sites in the city and for the important space that he reserves for literature.
