CDU applies for the formation of new committees in Warburg: Mobility and digitization – Warburg

These can be formed in accordance with the municipal code of North Rhine-Westphalia in order to discuss matters falling within their subject area and to be able to give the council a recommendation for a resolution.

In the motion, the CDU parliamentary group chairman Hubertus Kuhaupt explains that the previous council committees were formed in the 2000s. The social development and the objectives in local politics have changed since then across all parties, explains Kuhaupt.

In order to do justice to this change, the Group of Christian Democrats is therefore proposing that the committees for forest and hunting, youth care, school, sport and social affairs as well as planning, building be retained and re-established.

However, the committee for mobility, digitization, sustainability and climate protection and the committee for urban development, tourism and culture are to be added.

All committees should have 13 seats and, in addition to the planning committee, also enable the participation of knowledgeable citizens.

“The previous committee for culture, heritage and monument preservation should no longer be formed and integrated into the other committees on a subject-specific basis,” the CDU requests.

The structure and size of these committees are suitable for mapping the content of the Council’s work in the 2020 to 2025 electoral period. In addition to defining the committee structure, the committee should also be made up of members.
