CDC released a self-test bot on COVID-19. His name is “Clara”

The bot was created by scientists from CDC and the medical division of the cloud computing service Microsoft Azure. The authors of the application believe that remote screening of patients with a cold or flu-like symptoms will help those who have “access to limited medical resources.”

An AI is built into the application, which will be able to answer user questions – and thereby allow to unload the Center employees.

The CDC notes that Clara is not intended to diagnose and treat coronavirus. The bot will tell users in detail about the symptoms: if a person finds a lot of similar ones, the neural network will recommend him to seek medical help or stay at home.


Now in 160 countries there are more than 339 thousand cases of coronavirus infection. 90% of all cases occur in six countries – China, Italy, USA, Iran, Spain and Germany. At the same time, in China, where the virus came from, there is a significant reduction in the epidemic. Since the end of 2019, 14.7 thousand people have died from coronavirus infection, more than 98.9 thousand people have recovered. In Russia, there are now 438 patients with coronavirus infection, of whom 12 were cured, and one patient died.
