Caught cold in Brück | association

The traditional team from 1. FC Union Berlin visited FSV Brück 1922 eV last Saturday.

In high summer temperatures, the Iron Legends were caught cold before the game and shortly after kick-off. David Bergner’s cancellation at short notice was followed by two more failures by Tom “Keiler” Persich and Björn Brunnemann within the first five minutes of the game. The team of dr. Detlef Schwarz seemed insecure on the pitch from the start and the committed opponent from FSV Brück 1922 with their around 20 nominated active players in the age range of 22 to 42 years took command on the pitch after the failures on the Unioner side and dominated the game over the entire course.

In the first section, the traditional team had not yet been reorganized after the two injuries and their defensive behavior was without coordination and assignment. The goal to make it 1-0 for the home side after just under a quarter of an hour was followed a little later in the 20th minute by the 2-0. Both goals resulted from typical situations on the field throughout the afternoon. In their own development game, the Köpenicker made too many mistakes and had to follow the much younger opponent with heavy steps. After some confusion about a drinking break and the playing time of 2x35min, which the referee was unfortunately not informed about, the referee blew the whistle for “tea break”.

In the half-time speech, the motivating words of coach Dr. Detlef Schwarz honored the Köpenicker players. Determined to turn the game around, the Unioners started the second half more concentrated. One or the other offensive action seemed pleasing up to the edge of the penalty area of the bridge team. In the home team’s box, however, the Reds and Whites didn’t get any serious chances to score. In the middle of the second half, the strength of the oldies dwindled noticeably. In the 62nd minute, FSV managed to knock out the Irons with a 3-0 final score that afternoon. The self-sacrificing Köpenickers were also denied a consolation goal that afternoon.
The Iron Legends don’t have long to come to terms with this defeat.

Already on Saturday, June 25th, 2022, the team at SV Blücher Schenkenberg is challenged against a 1st men’s team from the Uckermarkliga.
