Cases Increase, Mabar Regency Government Moves “One Week Against DHF” Activities

Labuan Bajo, Vox NTT- The West Manggarai Regency Government seems alert in responding to the increasing cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the region.

“We just finished a meeting with various stakeholders including school principals in Labuan Bajo and its surroundings to conduct the ‘One Week Against Dengue Fever’ activity,” said Deputy Regent of Mabar, dr. Yulianus Weng, when contacted VoxNtt.com, Friday (11/26/2021) afternoon.

According to Deputy Regent Weng, the “One Week Against DHF” activity will start from November 29 to December 3, 2021. In the meeting, several stakeholders including bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa agreed to fight dengue in a week.

“In that week, we clean every two days starting from the yard to public places,” said the former Head of the Manggarai District Health Office.

So far, he said, the Mabar Regency Government has carried out fogging in stages in several places in Labuan Bajo and its surroundings.

Fogging itself is a smoking technique that is carried out using insecticides in an effort to kill adult mosquitoes that cause DHF.

Then, the total suspected dengue fever from January to November 24, 2021 was 12 cases.

Then, according to Deputy Regent Weng, there were 21 DHF patients who were being treated until Friday (11/26). In detail, at Komodo Hospital there are 11 people, Labuan Bajo Health Center there are 6 people, and Siloam Hospital there are 4 people.

“So far, the patient’s condition is still stable, and we hope to recover soon and be able to return to their respective homes,” hoped Vice Regent Weng.

Then viewed from the graph of data on the development of DHF cases sourced from the Mabar Health Office Suveilans in November there was a significant increase, namely as many as 210 cases.

Previously in October there were 78 cases, September 14, August 7, July 4, June 7, May 11, April 11, March 9, February 2, and January 7.
