So,
the total number of 0km car registrations reached 36,991 units in June,
and marked a year-on-year rise of 2.3%. It was, as Acara confirmed yesterday,
the first positive record in more than two years for a sector that fell 42.7% in 2019.
In any case, the values are located far from the peaks registered by the sector. Total sales for June 2020 are 22% below the 0km average for that month in the last 15 years.
Opportunities were maintained throughout June, although convenience was narrowed by the drop in the gap. The combination of greater restrictions on free dollars and access to dollars for importers by the Central Bank, added to the slow but persistent rise in the exchange rate, reduced the distance between exchange rates to less than 50%.

The easing of quarantine in the interior of the country, in the provinces that little by little are trying to leave behind the most critical phase of coronavirus infections, was another of the factors that fueled the dynamism of the sector.
This is reflected in the Acara data, which show that while in the province of Buenos Aires patents fell by 4.4% in June, there were rebounds in Córdoba (15.5%), Santa Fe (23.9%), Mendoza (14.7%), Tucumán (5.8%) and Entre Ríos (15.2%), which are ranked from 3 to 7 among the districts with the highest sales volume of 0km in the country.
The accumulated index for the year, however, reflects another deep drop. According to Acara’s data, 153,099 0km vehicles were sold in the first half of the year, with a year-on-year drop of 38.7%.
